Then from my T V Screen (did not touch the laptop from here on) I chose Serviio as the Source, picked a video from the TV folder that popped up, immediately found all the videos accessible from the TV Screen, used the TV controls to start the video - PERFECT! This is a GREAT product. Then in Serviio's main screen I browsed to a folder with Videos in it, and added it to the media folders shared with Serviio. Once I made that new Manually Set Wi-Fi Connection and Manually set the IP Address to match the Serviio IP, then set the Subnet Mask to match my main WiFi connection's Subnet, as well as the same Router IP, and left everything else on "Automatic", then Serviio popped up right away on my Samsung Smart TV. My TV still could not see Serviio and then I figured out that all I had to do was go into my Network settings on my Mac (OS X 10.9.5) and Manually create a new Wi-Fi connection with the IP Address listed by Serviio in their startup screen where it showed my TV. Took me 10-15 minutes to browse "How-To's" online but Serviio found my TV immediately, so all I had to do was pick the profile of my TV in the included list (easy-peasy), which seems to be very important (don't just leave it on "Generic"). Would it be a network problem then? Mine is gigabit, so I can't believe that.Kind of nervous when I started - not a total newb, but not crazy computer savvy either. Playing the movies locally on the Mac's is no problem. The buffer is completely filled, and when the stuttering starts, the buffer remains filled! PMS is set to 4 cores, 400ms buffer, and the extra Mencoder option: better multicore support.Ī friend of mine has a Macbook Pro 2,4Ghz C2D with the same problem. I actually upgraded the CPU from a C2D E6420 to this C2Q Q6600, clocked it at 3Ghz. There's a lot of detail in that scene, and that's a scene where it goes wrong. Like the scene in Avatar in the very beginning where he is waking up from cryo sleep, en his personal "drawer" opens in the space ship where everybody is waking up. I have several movies in x264 1080p, and they all have lagging/stuttering problems with scenes which are "graphicly difficult", if I can say that. I have the same problem, only with 1080p. But what I did notice is that when I transcode standard DVD-Rips avi videos my network interface card peaks at 1 to 2 mb/s, but when I do it with 1080p videos (no matter what file extension, mkv, mp4 or flv), it streams at constant 5 mb/s, although, like I said, the CPU and memory seem to handle it pretty fine. I'm getting constant video and audio lag when transcondig1080p videos to my Bravia even though my CPU seems to handle the job (it never goes above 60-80% load when playing 1080p videos on my PC nor when transcoding them with PSM). Sorry if this is a repost but I couldn`t find any info on my problem.
